EN | How do I unlock teacher functionality?

You decided to join the fantastic crew of Artship. Now it's time to turn your normal Artship account into a teacher account and unlock all the good stuff for teachers.

By unlocking the functionality to teach at Artship, you gain new career options and find new and innovative ways of sharing your creativity and drive for art. The process is split up into three steps. First, we'll make sure you and your Artship teacher profile look their best. Completing the second step unlocks all teaching features in your account by giving us some details about you as an artist and your business. In the third step, you provide us information so we can pay you. In some cases, it's not needed to do the third step and some teachers prefer to do it once their course has started. Don't wait too long though cause we need this info to pay you on time.

In any case, you can finish them at your own speed. This is a short document explaining how to fill in your artist and business details.

Requirements

• Existing Artship account
• Have this information at hand:
  • Part 1: High-definition headshot and a resume.

  • Part 2: Name, address, email, date of birth, country of origin, and country of residence.

  • Part 3: Business data like Chamber of Commerce registration number, BTW/VAT number, company form, extract of the Chamber of Commerce registration (less than 6 months old), BTW/VAT-liability (yes/no), IBAN, BIC, and a copy of your passport to verify your identity.

Part 1: Fill in your Artship profile

Follow this guide on how to fill in your Artship profile. Make sure at least your resume is filled in and you uploaded a beautiful high definition-headshot.

Part 2: Unlock teacher functionality

1. Log into your existing Artship account and go to teacher setup.
2. Fill in your date of birth, where you currently live and work and your nationality. Click on the 'Next' button.  
   
3. Fill in your business name and choose your company form between sole trader (eg Eenmanszaak, Freiberufler), business (eg BV, NV, GmbH, VOF, Ltd) or organization (eg Stichting, Verein, Foundation). Make sure to check the box for VAT-liable if your business writes invoices with VAT (eg BTW, MwSt). Click on 'next' when you're done.
   
4. We'll ask you for your business address in the next step. When you're done, click on 'next'. 
   
5. Bam! You finished this part if you see the screen below. Click on 'Continue with profile setup' to go back to your profile. 
   

Part 3: Payment information (optional)

You only need to complete this step if Artship will pay you. Otherwise, skip to Part 4.

1. Click on this link to go to payment setup.
2. Fill in your company and bank account details.
3. Confirm that you allow us to send self-billing invoices.
4. Click on 'Send'.

Part 4: Done!

Congrats, you are ready to go and share your creativity with the world! If your classes will be managed by a school, collective, or team, they can set up your classes now. But if you're a freelancer like me, then you might as well set up your first course now.
